Larry was amazed at the originality and design of the 1969 Ford Cobra his first time seeing it. The car was in stunning condition and still wore its original Raven Black paint finish. The car needed a new paint job but it was far more original than Larry imagined. This Cobra had lived its whole life in Wisconsin, and it had never been driven since new. Larry's plan for bringing the car to the next step was simple.

1993 Ford Mustang SVT Cobra

This rare 1993 Ford Mustang SVT Cobra model was limited in production. It came equipped with a 5.0L V8 engine that is tuned to deliver more power. This car was factory rated at 235 horsepower and 280 pounds-feet. SVT tuning team used the Mustang GT as a basis and replaced the car's cylinder head with GT40 parts. The engine had other modifications, including a modified intake manifold as well as camshafts. It also featured vented disc brakes.


The engine was powered by a 302CI V8 engine that produced 235 horsepower. It came with GT-40 Cast Iron heads, which had larger intake port and valve designs. These heads were completed with GT-40 lower intake manifolds. A special tubular, cast aluminum upper intake was also fitted. The GT-40 manifold directed air through a series rectangular ports. 1999-2004 Ford Mustang SVT Cobra

SVT provided a performance convertible called the Ford Mustang SVT Cobra between 1999 and 2004. It featured the same V6-powered engine, but was modified for better handling and performance. In addition to the V6, the Cobra also received an aluminum flywheel. The suspension was also revised with adjustable damping rates. The car featured forged alloy wheels with 245/45ZR-17 BFGoodrich CompT/A Tires. It has a distinctive sound that started as a low growl at moderate cornering speeds then developed into a clear howl at the limits of the car’s performance.

SVT engineers were able to remove 50 pounds of weight from the car's front end. Twenty-five percent of this weight came directly from the engine. Sixty pounds were also removed from the Cobra’s coil-on–plug direct ignition system. The new Mustang SVT Cobra's 55/45 fore/aft ratio is about one foot smaller than the predecessor. The new SVT Cobra weighs 110 more than the previous model.

How to Become an Auto Technician

A technician who works on vehicles is an automotive technician. He/she is employed at automobile dealerships, garages, service centres, and auto shops. An associate degree should be obtained from a vocational school if you wish to work as an auto technician.
